Setup Steps

Create a folder on your PC that Claude is allowed to access.

Open Claude Desktop settings and go to Developer configuration.

Add the filesystem MCP server configuration and replace the folder path with your real folder.

Restart Claude Desktop.

Ask Claude to create or edit a test file inside that folder.

Keep the allowed folder narrow. Do not point Claude at your whole computer.
