Open Task Manager and check your available RAM.

Open LM Studio and browse the model catalog.

Look at the model size in the name, such as 7B, 12B, or 30B.

Use a practical rule: 7B models usually need around 8GB RAM, 12B models around 16GB, and larger 30B models often need 24GB or more.
