Introducing LXGIC Studios: Who We Are
Welcome to LXGIC Studios. We figured it was time to properly introduce ourselves and explain what we're all about.
We're a web development studio that builds websites, web applications, and digital tools for businesses of all sizes. But that description is pretty generic, right? Every agency says something similar. So let me tell you what actually makes us different.
We Started Because We Were Frustrated
Before LXGIC Studios existed, we worked with agencies and freelancers on various projects. Some were great. Most weren't. The pattern we kept seeing was this: agencies would promise the world, charge premium rates, and then deliver something built on a bloated WordPress template that ran slower than a 2005 flip phone.
We thought we could do better. Not just in terms of quality, but in terms of honesty about what's possible, what things cost, and how long they take. So we started LXGIC Studios with a simple goal: build things we'd actually want to use ourselves.
What We Actually Do
Our core work falls into three categories:
- Custom Websites - From landing pages to full marketing sites. We don't use page builders or drag-and-drop tools. Every site is hand-coded, which means faster load times and complete control over the design.
- Web Applications - Need a dashboard? A booking system? A customer portal? We build full-stack applications that solve real business problems.
- Technical Consulting - Sometimes you don't need us to build something. You need help figuring out what to build, or how to fix what you've already got. We do that too.
Our Philosophy on Technology
We're opinionated about our tech choices, and we think that's a good thing. Too many developers chase whatever framework is trending on Twitter this week. We prefer to pick tools that have proven themselves and stick with them until there's a genuinely good reason to switch.
Right now, that means we build most projects with Next.js, React, and TypeScript. For databases, we typically use PostgreSQL through Supabase. For hosting, we favor Vercel for web apps and Cloudflare for static sites. These aren't the only good choices, but they're the ones we know inside and out.
When you hire us, you're not getting someone who's learning on your project. You're getting a team that's shipped dozens of sites with these exact tools.
Who We Work With
Honestly? We're a good fit for some businesses and not for others. Here's how to know if we might be right for you:
We're probably a good fit if:
- You care about performance and quality, not just getting something launched
- You have a budget that matches your expectations (we're not the cheapest option)
- You're willing to be involved in the process and give feedback
- You need something custom, not a template with your logo slapped on
We're probably not a good fit if:
- You need something built yesterday for almost nothing
- You want a WordPress site (we don't do WordPress anymore)
- You're looking for someone to just execute orders without thinking critically
How We Work
Every project starts with a conversation. We want to understand your business, your goals, and your constraints. Then we put together a proposal that outlines exactly what we'll build, how long it will take, and what it will cost. No surprises.
During the build, we share progress regularly. You'll see working versions of your project as we go, not just a big reveal at the end. This means we catch misunderstandings early, when they're cheap to fix.
After launch, we don't disappear. We offer ongoing support and maintenance because websites aren't set-and-forget. Things break, requirements change, and you need someone who knows your codebase ready to help.
Why the Name?
People ask about "LXGIC" sometimes. It's pronounced like "logic". The X is a stylistic choice. We picked it because logic is at the core of what we do. Software development is fundamentally about solving problems through logical thinking. It's not about flashy designs or buzzwords. It's about figuring out what needs to happen and making it happen cleanly.
What's Next
We're going to be posting regularly on this blog about web development, our process, and lessons we've learned along the way. If you're thinking about building something for your business, follow along. Even if you don't end up working with us, you'll learn things that help you make better decisions about your web presence.
Got a project in mind? We'd love to hear about it. Reach out and let's talk.
